Kirby Hocutt is director of athletics at Texas Tech University and former member and chairman of the College Football Playoff Committee. Hocutt previously worked in athletics administration at the University of Miami, Ohio University, Kansas State University and the University of Oklahoma. As the second-longest tenured athletics director in school history, Hocutt has been at the helm during Texas Tech’s most successful period, which has seen all 17 athletic programs compete in the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) postseason or a bowl game. Hocutt also served as chairman of the NCAA Division I Football Recruiting Subcommittee, a Big 12 representative for the NCAA Division I leadership council and a member of the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee. He is currently a committee member on the National Football Foundation’s Future for Football steering committee. Hocutt graduated from Kansas State University, where he was a football team captain and all-conference linebacker.
