Currently serving for a second time as president of West Virginia University, Dr. E. Gordon Gee has been a leader in higher education for more than four decades. In addition to his service at West Virginia University, Gee served as president of Ohio State University, Vanderbilt University, Brown University and the University of Colorado. Before starting his career in higher education, he clerked under Chief Justice David T. Lewis of the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and served as a judicial fellow and staff assistant to the U.S. Supreme Court, where he worked for Chief Justice Warren Burger. Gee is currently a Big 12 representative on the College Football Playoff Board of Managers and has served on several education-governance organizations and committees, including the Big 12 Conference Council of Presidents, the Business Higher Education Forum and the American Association of Universities. He also served as chair of the Big 12 Board of Directors Executive Committee for the 2017-2018 year.
