Danny White is the director of athletics at the University of Tennessee. In his more than three years at Tennessee, White’s innovative and forward-thinking approach to the rapidly evolving landscape of intercollegiate athletics has led to success across the board in Knoxville. In 2023-2024, Tennessee earned a third-place finish in the LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup standings, its best mark ever, and its third straight SEC All-Sports Trophy. The historic year on Rocky Top included 11 sports finishing in the top 10, with six in the top five. The banner season concluded with the baseball team winning its first national championship, the 24th team crown in Tennessee history, and the first since 2009. Prior to his current role, White was the athletic director at the University of Buffalo and the University of Central Florida. He was also senior associate athletic director at the University of Mississippi, worked in development at Fresno State and served as an administrator at Ohio University and Northern Illinois University.
